Food and drink businesses are being encouraged to take up a stall at one of Derbyshire’s leading culinary events. The 2012 Derbyshire Food Fair, organised by Derbyshire County Council, is being held in the grounds of Hardwick Hall on Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27, next year.
The annual event attracts around 10,000 visitors and gives local producers and suppliers the opportunity to promote their goods and highlight their businesses to locals and tourists. More than 100 stalls will showcase the best of Derbyshire produce, as well as exotic foods from further afield. And the county council is seeking sponsors for the event. The main role of title sponsor is available, together with opportunities as contributing sponsors, and sponsor of the cooking theatre – at which TV chef Simon Rimmer will join top local cooks to stage demonstrations.
Councillor Kevin Parkinson said: “The Derbyshire Food and Drink Fair is now firmly on the culinary calendar, with visitors coming from far and wide. This is a great opportunity for local businesses and organisations to showcase themselves to thousands of people. Our food and drink fair helps the county’s economy and I’d strongly urge businesses to consider supporting the popular event.”
There will be a wealth of entertainment, including live music, competitions and face painting. The popular arts and crafts section will host more than 30 local artists displaying their wares, which will range from contemporary art to traditional craftworks.
Midlands Cooperative Society has already given its backing and will sponsor the gate for a third successive year. For a sponsorship pack and further information about the event, contact tourism officer Stephanie Walsh on 01629 538464 or email Stephanie.email@example.com
